I finally had some success with the 18 inch barrel on the wolverine. One big bore, one big sow, and one piglet. I should have had four, but I did not zoom the thermal and I think I was a little low. Need to get on the computer and watch the video. All with 100 Accubond

True. Just need some practice on those shots. I hunt out of a climbing tee stand, which I’m relatively new to. 4 pigs came into the edge of the area a little over 100 yards away to my right and a little behind me. They were skittish and weren’t coming in past the edge of the trees. I had to turn and shoot sideways and a little behind my strong side shoulder. As I was turning, I made a small noise and they started to walk out of the area, so I had to rush the shot. That shot is uncomfortable enough for me, then when it was rushed and not zoomed, so I was shooting at 2.5x. I was low on the first shot on the big pig, but managed to clean up the small one as it was running into the woods with a quartering away shot that sent him rolling. That was a nice shot. So I missed the easy one and made the hard one. Go figure 🥴

I’m running LC brass with cci450 primer and 24.2 grains of SWBO at 2724 fps. WARNING this is a compressed load and requires a drop tube or some other settling technique. It is over pressure in Starline and Hornady brass

May I ask what your load is and what range you shot the deer? I have had excellent results on both deer and the single hog taken with the 110 grain V-Max.

I will have to check my data but off the top of my head I think I'm using a little more 1680 than you. I'm glad you were able to recover the deer. I haven't tried any Gold Dots yet but they are on the list.
