Excellent podcast Mark. I hope this is a winner for you and the AR shooters out there. It has been 40+ years since I met the AR-15/M-16 and the AR-10, and I among many others wished there was something in between- even more so after the 6.8SPC came out. This extra space, small as it is, will have great effect on everyone who buys the receivers, and especially on the wildcatters and hand-loaders who can now run their longer projectiles and innovate a whole new class of cartridges.
It was kind of long, yeah, but you guys keep it entertaining and very informative. Thanks.

Will there be any 5 round mags produced, or block system to make them legal for hunting in certain states?

Yes the 10 rounders have blocks designed for them.

Awesome, thanks Mark. Another question, any chance of mags being made without the forward rib to make straight wall cartridge development easier on this platform?

Eventually... but one step at a time.  If we don't get the SPC case and Grendel case versions off the ground, none of the others will come.

I listened to the podcast on the way to and from work today. Good stuff all around!

I sure would support the crowd funding of it to help it get on its own two feet.

I don't suppose these will have a barrel nut system like the M4E1 Enhanced Aero receiver, so that the barrels can be interchanged easily and quickly...but I can dream.[sleep]

So where is this project at right now? Is it to the crowd funding stage yet? Any pics or vids of prototypes we can see?

Waiting on these to hit the market so I can do up a 12 inch pistol 26 gpc.

So basicly waiting on 2 products but excited to see some new tech hit the market.

So how much longer out is it till the new frontier reciver sets are on the market?

LWRC is way over priced. And Sulzer firearms can't seem to answer phone calls or emails for the last 2 months.

Sulzer has pretty much closed their doors I understand. Broach is almost done at NFA so it won't be long.

We are going to post a poll soon... across many forums, to see if this project will be worth it.  It is a very expensive endeavor, and if the support isn't there, as in, if a large enough community does not want them, they will not get made.  If we see an overwhelming amount of support, we will launch a crowdfund to get them done.

New Frontier is still working on their receiver sets along with other projects they already had going... it will be easier to "get" support for the mags once they announce they now have more economical receiver sets available.  We continue to look for more receiver set manufacturers, but of course they want to see the magazines kick off first, which is not how we need this to work. There are already the Magpul Pmags for the SIX8, we need more receiver set manufacturers to entice more folks to want the metal mags.

It's a trick chicken/egg scenario and we are working through it the best we can.

Hmmm intresting.

I'm in for a good pile of mags. Going too need some 10 and 30 rounders. Might spring for a few 20 rounders as well.
