I believe this round of barrels is spoken for. Judging from interest in this caliber Mark may have to make another order sooner than later...

Mark has got a place for them in the store under MDWS Weapons Systems Exclusives, and that says they are sold out.

That was round 1, I'm sure there are spots left. He has not started taking orders/money for round two yet, just looking for verbal commitment for now. We don't even have round one figured out yet, with reamer/throating issues. I'm sure Mark is going to wait until wrinkles are ironed out, before starting round two.

I was just curious if there a were any spots left. May need to go ahead and invest in one while I’ve got the money.

So tell me, will a polymer lower hold up to this round?

I've never had a polymer lower so take this with a grain of salt. The felt recoil is different than a 223 AR15 and feels more like shooting an SKS or 7.62x39 AR15. If your lower is ok with a 762x39 then I'd think it would be fine with this also.

Mine is on a poly lower right now, got about 70-80 rounds on it and so far it's ok.

To tell the truth, it took me about a year and a half of shopping around and saving to finish my present AR 5.56 and I have about $350 total in it.

Looks like ~6-7 of them are claimed/spoken for. Couple/few spots left.

Do you know what FPS you are getting out of a 16” barrel? I have a Handi 22” in max that gets 2,200 with a 180grn bullet. Just found this and assume Rangerjoe is the same Joe from AZ that posted a comment on star lines site. Thanks been looking for something like this for a while. Just pissed not my idea one😜

Mark, I have a dumb question for you, can a 9mm barrel be rechambered for this cartridge?

To be worth it in saving buying a blank, no. More machining would go into making it workable as 9mm base is bigger diameter than 357 max.
Cutting chamber end short and threading for extension, gas block land and hole. In itself will probably leave barrel too short for a carbine. Plus 9mm rifling is usually cut at .355-.356 and different twist rate.

I believe we should form a consensus. moleman considers the 150 an evolution from the orriginal (please correct if im wrong) as the development goes we should strive to have the same. So there are no misadventures or confusion or loading into rifiling by mistake.

Of the first run how many are changing to 150 rather than 75 of free bore?

I've rechambered a 9mm blowback barrel and it was more of a PITA than making a new one from a blank. You basically have to remove the old chamber and the barrel steps are no longer right on. I'm aware of a couple of guys that wanted a 9mm barrel and went that route using a blank. I don't remember the particulars on what reamer they used other than one for sure used a 357AR reamer and a smaller pilot. The issue with 9mm is the available bullets. Most are lighter in weight and designed to work at half the speed this round is capable of. There are some 9mm rifle bullets, but they're designed for faster speeds so you basically end up with what amounts to a FMJ if you use them. The bullet selection in 357 and 358 is much greater and many of the mid weight range bullets perform well within this velocity range.
