Looking for a decent used 12ga 870 Monte Carlo stock in solid walnut with butt pad.  Standard grade walnut is fine, but will consider some of the semi-fancy stuff.  Please PM with pics and description of what you have and what you want for it. The most important condition area for me is where the stock meets the receiver - I need this area to be free from all defects, chips, etc. Condition issues in other areas are not so important and can be easily repaired or retained for character.

Regarding cost, a new Remington OEM 870 Monte Carlo in Walnut is $85 shipped.  I wanted to first see if there were any decent used examples that I could recycle for my purposes before buying the new one.  There are a few on flea-bay, but mostly the extra fancy stuff - not my thing.

Thx - Lucky

does the donor stock need to be gauge specific, is it 12ga stocks we're after?

i'm leaning toward a higher grade of walnut but comments around the web say Boyd's XX doesn't look any better than what comes on a production 870. my 25-45 Sharps upper is set up for a delta ring carbine length HG but that could change.
