Don't waste your time on Arf.com.  The response you got to your inquiry should tell you all you need to know.  A good number of us here have been members on there and been kicked off for daring to express opinions that the powers that be took exception to.

Supposedly you have to register with an approved email address, but can change it to anything afterwards.   I was registered there many years ago but they wouldn't accept my yahoo account any longer when trying to reset my password after 10 years or so of non use.  So I'm registered under my wife's email, haven't bothered to change it to the yahoo account yet to see if it works or not.

You may have an email address that is provided to you as part of your internet access account at home. Try using it. If you don't know what it is, try looking on your service invoice, it may be shown on there, or log into the account where you pay the bill and check there.

Like others have said, use an email that isn't free.

There's nothing wrong with ar15.com, there's lots of good useful information there. And the equipment exchange is second to none, typically the people that get butthurt... are the ones that go into General discussion and expect adult conversation.

That's kinda the point isn't it?  Why waste your time if you aren't going to get adult conversation.  If I want kiddie crap I can go onto Facebook.  Plus, like 68Forum, you express an opinion on something that is counter to what the powers that be like, you're history.  I don't need that kind of BS.

Arfcom is broken up into a few different sections, 3 to be exact.

There is technical discussions: that is governed by pretty strict rules of sticking to the topic at hand. This area of AR-15, has the widest variety of topics I've ever seen on a forum... and some of the people there are pretty impressive and very knowledgeable

Equipment Exchange: governed by rules that are well enforced. I would say on average somebody is putting something up for sale every couple of minutes, I find a lot of good deals on there.

And the there is General discussion: this is the place that if you want to act like a retard, you have the ability. This is usually where people get hung up, if you are thin skin and don't have a sense of humor... do not go there.

Okay folks... love 'em or hate 'em - let's drop the topic before we start looking like them to visitors.  We are better than that.
