I've always been a proponent of the underdog. I would cheer on the wrong team, pick the weird and obscure in almost every category of interest. When it comes to building an AR15, the .277 was just different enough from what the rest of my friends have but still be able to join in the build stories and customization options they enjoy with their boring 'ol 5.56. With one of those already in the rack and a stripped lower on the bench, it's time for something new. Researching the ballistics, it seems it's a capable little round and not too expensive to shoot. I'm not into reloading yet, but this might be the gateway. Thanks to MDWS for the innovation and to this group for the wealth of knowledge I'm bound to discover.

Welcome to the forum from Ohio.
As a proponent of all that's weird and wonderful you are in the right place [wink]
