I have a question about the 90gr Gold Dots sold at Rocky Mountain Reloading. They are shinny copper with a cannelure while the Speer Gold Dots sold in the black boxes of 50 are a dull metallic copper finish without a cannelure.  Does anyone know the difference between these two Gold Dots? Do they perform the same?
                                                                                 Thanks

They are the exact same bullet. The bullet with no cannelure was Speer's version for retail civilian sales...

If you order bullets OEM you can ask for the cannelure or without. The with cannelure is the original version that was produced for the 6.8SPC ammunition so the cannelure is placed appropriately.

Thanks Mark for the quick reply. It seems like an excellent deal for a bonded bullet.

Looks like RMR still has almost 1/4-million in stock.  Gosh - I paid more than this for pulled 90gr GDs 5~6 years ago.
