I mocked up one of my own Badgers (with a 100 gr. Accubond and without having the slightest idea what to call it) last winter using a bad Ocelot case. It does, in fact, look interesting!

Whoa, whoa, whoa.  Badger and Straycat?  Did I miss something?  I thought the 6.5-223 project wasn't going anywhere because the high BC 6.5 bullets people wanted to shoot were too long and ate up too much case room to keep them magazine length.  And what would the badger have over the Wolverine?

And I just gotta say, those rounds look like they're . . .leaning.

Folks asked us about a 6.5 in a Wolverine case... that would not work out well.  The Mongoose case is optimized for best capacity.  In 6.5 it will still need to run the lighter-for-caliber bullets.

The Badger will have fps over the WLV, but won't run subs, isn't designed for high-speed low-drag (lol) work, and will need to use modified mags to run best unlike the WLV.

We're not professional photographers, ha!

BAD ASSERY INDEED!

Arizona Zombie Jackrabbit season is winding down... the ugly bastards are about to go into hiding (or migrate back across the border).  Will the 1st Viper be here in time to explode the last zombies of the year?

[thumb]   Megacoolness!  [cool]  Is BiggDawg doing the happy dance??  [rofl]

PS: Honestly - no rush on the Viper; I still have to work up loads, etc.  Zombie JRs will be back next March - plenty to kill then too.

Well, to play off that scene, if "leaning" involves wanting and accepting, the I definitely want and accept those purdy cartridges! [wink]

The Badger is sibling to the Wolverine, based on the Mongoose-type case (fire-formed to reduce case taper, sharp shoulder, max case capacity).  The Badger case is longer than the Wolverine - adding even more room for powder.  However - it is a supersonic only round; no room for long heavy sub-sonic bullets and still fit the magazine.

It will also need mags with reduced internal ribs... exactly like the 7.62x40.  Both Lancer and MagPul are selling 300 BLK mags with reduced ribs that should work great... they do in my x40s.

I'm excited !!  [biggrin]

I can see why .. thanks for the info.

Will this new rcvr set that uses magpul 6.8 magazines be a goo choice for these longer loadings?

it will be  a good choice for the gpc line the fit perfectly and you get the added length.
