Any thought on barrel selection. 1/8 or 1/7.7    Thinking of shooting 95 or 100 gr. mostly.  Maybe try 105s  already loading for 3 243s for my kids so I have 100s of 100 grainers.

I have a 1:10 that handles 90~95gr perfectly, I haven't tried anything heavier.  I'm sure 1:9 would be fine with 100~105gr.  Then again, I believe in slowest twist to be stable - not trying to see how fast you can spin a bullet.

So then what is the purpose of the 1/7.7 if the 1/8 is more than sufficient for bullets mentioned. I am generally a heavy bullet loader, which generally gives me the accuracy I want. I know that this will affect my velocity and over all range my bullet will travel. If I can't reach my target on a given day then I have selected the wrong weapon for my area of operations. Not that I need a lighter bullet and more velocity to achieve my objective. That being said I get you don't use a 06 to squirrel hunt.

The 1:7.7 and 1:8 are for those that want to shoot the 105 Amax and they do not overstabilize the 70-95 grain fare.
