A New York compliant AR where the mag is pinned ends up being a break action top loader, very inconvenient.  However, this configuration allows for all the evil features without the ill effects of John Law and Judge Bean.  I've tried many different rear take down pins with the pull ring type being my favorite.....Until a co-worker mention a MA Loader by MEAN, LLC.  http://www.meanarms.com.  I purchased a couple and they work well.  I tried .223, 5.56, 300 blackout, and 277 wolverine and they all loaded through the ejection port and down into the mag.  Check out the video on their web site.
This was developed for California and, although I'm not an expert on NY SAFE ACT, it should be OK for NY at least for now.

Shoot, that is faster than hand loading a mag, maybe rivaling a MAGLULA. The antis are gonna poop.

What are you saying, private innovation will always Trump Government Tyranny. I hate that these guys have to use brilliant innovative ideas to combat ridiculous laws. Just think what else those guys could have come up with as far as new MSR products. I. does look like they made a nice product

I am also incredibly impressed at how adaptive the underlying AR design is.  So many different adaptations, designs and products, all derivative of one base product.  Pretty impressive.

I'm almost wondering if there isn't a place in competition for this. Having the option to reload a partial magazine could save you a full reload during a critical time.

I'm sure that NY will try and ban these. It's too intelligent for them

I think Bear Flag Defense makes a similar stripper clip-style loader, but I don't think it needs the special mouth around the ejection port. However, I don't know if BFD is even making their loader yet.

These types of loaders are a pretty slick work-around for ban state nonsense. I think using something like this could be combined with a fixed mag installation like the DFM. In NYS, that combo could allow someone to keep the "evil" features on their rifle.

The special mouth isn't necessary but is supposed to help guide it into place with speed.  I bought it but haven't installed it....yet.  Works pretty good without it!

For those of us in the Commie states, the MA Loader for the AR-10 is now available.
