I'm curious if this is possible? I've found a cheap take off barrel is it possible to shorten the chamber and ream to 277 wolverine while still having enough threads to use the barrel nut? Might be a dumb question but I asked it anyhow. Thanks

The .270 Win is based on a .30-'06 sized case (long action), the .277 WLV is based on a .223 case... much shorter and smaller diameter.  One would have to completely remove the chamber of a .270 Win in order to have metal to make a WLV chamber.  In other words, not possible.

I guess I was wondering if it could almost be used as a Blank? Would the 270 Barrel be larger diameter on the chamber end then the wolverine?

The only way it would work is if it was an uncountoured barrel, remove .270 chamber completely off and start over as if it was a new blank, otherwise there wont be enough material left to thread for receiver/extension or the right size material for gas block mounting. After all thatwork you would br better offstarting with a new blank in the first place. It's possible but only under those extremely unlikely circumstances that it is an uncontoured barrel (like a 1" bull barrel or larger diameter)

270 win barrel to AR...

an option is 270AR, has 308 based case and shortened to approx 1.6, so shorten barrel 3/8-1/2 a guess, but requires special bolt, and machining

and neck reaming brass.

even if barrel were free you would  spend more time and money for something that  while more energy than 277 wolverine takes more time and effort.
