Would it be possible to get a pinned post/catagory that gives updates on the GPC project - maybe a separate category for the whole family with general info at beginning - for example

 - Is there currently a source other than LWRC for six8 receiver sets?
 - The specs on brass and related reloading data
 - General info on what is happening - do the GPC barrels require a six8 lower and upper or are we just loading short - or are there six8 GPC barrels coming in future?

I have three 25x45 barrels and three 6x45 barrels from an abandoned project I would be interested in having converted to GPC 25 and GPC 26 respectfully.  I would be willing to let some of them be used for test barrels if they can be converted.  I have the following:

16" - 25x45 - 1/9 - .75 GB - C Gas
18" - 25x45 - 1/9 - .75 GB - M Gas
24" - 25x45 - 1/9 - .75 GB - R Gas

16" - 6x45 - 1/8 - .75 GB - C Gas
20" - 6x45 - 1/9 - .75 GB - R Gas
24" - 6x45 - 1/9 - .75 GB - R Gas

They are all  SS Black Hole Weaponry barrels with poly rifling and have never been fired - they are mounted on Aero uppers if memory serves me right with diamondhead handguard and  probably an adjustable and non-adjustable gas block mix.

I am mostly interested in the 18" and 20" for myself.  Let me know if you all have interest - if they can even be converted.

First here is the order and status of development on the GPC line

20 GPC  barrel and dies in store ready for sale
27 GPC  Barrels and dies in store, gpc brass available works for all of the GPC rounds.

next in development
24 GPC  testing progressing several in hands of customers, hornady dies are ordered ready to make barrels when dies are ready
25 GPC  Testing progressing performance is great will do custom barrels and dies for guys if wanted, hornady dies will be ordered after the 24 GPC dies are done.

28 GPC testing started but more needed when testing done demand will dictate if i just keep doing custom dies for it or we order hornady dies.
22 GPC Testing just started looks very good will be next to get dies after we have the others will start taking custom orders in a couple months.

26 GPC have my test barrel made and a couple others to make testing will drag in to mid winter on this
30 GPC have testers lined up testing will start this fall release around spring probably.

as testing begins on them we have been making their own groups but we will look at reorganizing that.

now for your barrels. the issue with rechambering a 223 cat is case length. the gpc are shorter 1.62 inches versus 1.75 which requires the barrels to be set back in order to cut the GPC chamber and with the gas port already drilled that would require plugging gas port and drilling new  it would be dimpled but the block would not be close to the shoulder, the barrels would need set back about .200 if my rough calculations are correct. with all that work it really isn't feasible to rechamber them it can be done but they would not be perfect and you would be looking at around 100 a barrel to rechamber and set back

thx for the info;

what is the relationship/situation with the six8 receiver - does that simply give the GPC more bullet options and longer OAL potential - or will the six8 use different barrels

any other sources for six8 other than LWRC

sorry i missed that.  the six8 receiver gives longer load length and pmags not required for the GPC but can be taken advantage of.

new frontier armory will be bringing their six8 pattern receivers out this fall i don't have a date, it all got pushed back because the owner of nfa died from cancer pretty quick. they are the only other ones i know of at the moment. sulzer was making them but he quit the gun business all of a sudden.

same barrels will work in standard or six8 receivers

Thx again - keep up the good work you all are doing - was never a big fan of the 6.8 SPC and then with all the drama - but what you all are doing is spectacular.  Not that there was much less drama, I do like my 264LBC and my 243LBC.  For awhile Columbia Arms had 7 - 6.8SPC variants and then stopped producing most of them all of a sudden - kind of weird - maybe too much drama for them as well.

yeah and my FFA guy also died recently - he was the only guy around that didn't think he needed to make a living on transfers.

I sure hate to hear that the Chief did not last long after he retired. He started NFA while he was still active duty at Nellis. They had a real good shop, used to go by whenever I was in Vegas. I heard that we might see a good bit of cancer out of the Desert war because of the crud in the air there.
