They say that you can use 308 brass, but 243 is just that necked down and would not need neck turning

The issue is the shoulder needs to be moved back which puts thicker brass in new neck which would require modification.

BD will be the definitive person to ask 🙄

Short answer is yes it will work. Long answer is yes it will work, but you WILL need to thin out the new neck by means of neck turner or neck reamer. I use .243 for many of the fat cats. I like remington .243 brass the best. Dasher is much easier and the new 6GT brass is much-much easier (but more $$$).

The 6.5 Timberwolve is a necked down 30 Sabercat , I have used Winchester brass 308 and 243 win and 6.5x47 , lapua 6mm Dasher for 30 Sabercat and it works but takes a lot of time getting the shoulder correct and necks need to be a consistent . 013 thickness turned down. if you have time to do it and tools to do it with works fine , you just you don't get full potential of cartridge do to pressure . Dasher works easier size then load and can push it to limits they where cartridge are designed to do .but itll cost more . Im waiting on some hornady 6GT brass to show up and try . About a quarter each cheaper then dasher and is better match for 7Valkyrie .

Trust me, GT brass works MUCH better than Dasher!

you get the gist. they are all right.

yes you can use 243 brass but when doing so you have to size, trim then turn necks so they are no thicker than .013 .012 is better. then the case capacity is lower by 2-4 grains compared to dasher and 6 gt brass. if you don't turn necks it will not fit the chamber.

6 norma dasher brass requires false shoulder and fire form because the shoulder is about .025 farther forward than 6 norma dasher brass.

6 gt brass just requires run through die and trim
